01.11.2010/ The POINT SETTER® pneumatic holding system

The POINT SETTER® holding system is the innovative solution for positioning optical systems (endoscopes, VITOM®), retractors, and instruments in the surgical field.

The POINT SETTER® is attached to the standard rail of the surgical table. The pneumatic holding arm is ready for use as soon as the compressed air is connected in the operating room.
POINT SETTER® can be adjusted with great precision thanks to three ball joints that are set pneumatically and one manually operated ball joint at the tip of the holding system.

The pneumatically actuated joints of the holding system release upon the push of a button, allowing the surgeon or operating room staff to easily adjust them to the desired position. When the button is released, the POINT SETTER® stays in the new position. The pushbutton can be locked via a safety lever to avoid inadvertent activation during surgery.

The patented and self-locking POINT SETTER® holding system remains in position, even when the compressed air supply is interrupted.

POINT SETTER® receives a sterile cover before each surgical procedure, so that it is continuously ready for use without sterilization-associated waiting times.

Four different holding clamps, which are included, allow a variety of optical systems, instruments, and retractors to be attached. The loading capacity of up to 2 kg expands the available options.

An arm length of 65 cm and the POINT SETTER®'s variable surgical table adapter provide the surgical team with many options for attaching the holding arm to the surgical table and positioning it over the working field - for patients of any size.
