18.08.2011/ Endoscopic lumbar disc surgery with the GORE system

This newly developed, compact system is particularly suitable for the transforaminal, posterolateral or interlaminar approach to the lumbar spine in the full-endoscopic treatment of intervertebral disc prolapse. Via the various approaches, this surgical technique is suitable for reaching medial, foraminal, and far lateral disc herniation. The 25° HOPKINS II Telescope features a working channel for instruments with a maximum diameter of 3.5 mm as well as two additional channels for irrigation and suction. Newly developed instruments such as the deflectable HF probe for controlled hemostasis, articulated hooks and grasping forceps, and side-cutting punches permit the surgeon to work safely and effectively while ensuring minimal tissue trauma.
